Marc C. Moe

May 14, 1955 — August 4, 2016

Marc Moe, age 61 of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, August 4, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Marc was born in Eau Claire on May 14, 1955, son of the late John Moe and Shirley (nee Wilson) Moe who lives in Appleton. Marc was a 1973 graduate of Appleton East High School, and for many years owned and operated his own business, Sunshine Painting. On July 8, 1995, he married Debbie Graber and together the couple shared twenty-one happy years together.

Marc was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and camping – a legacy from his father. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his family and many friends. He had many adventures during his time in the Sea Scouts and Coast Guard, but more than anything, Marc loved spending time with his wife, family, and life-long friends.

Marc is survived by his loving wife: Debbie Moe of Appleton; his mother: Shirley Moe of Appleton; three step children: Dawn (Jared) Yeske of Turtle Lake and their children Jordan, Spencer, and Chelsey; Brigett (Jake) Balog of Clayton and their children Keerstin and Hunter; and Dustin Schnell of Winneconne and his children Natalie and Seth. There are also two great-grandchildren: Carsyn and Carter. Marc has eight brothers and sisters: Virginia (Jim) O'Hara and their sons Andrew (Elizabeth) Hosmanek and Michael O'Hara; John (Kristine) Moe and their daughter Sophia; Kara Lynne (Arthur) Moore and their son Eric Anaya; Peter (Kathy) Moe and their children Katrina, Dallas (Rebecca), Scott, and Seth; Bruce (Christine) Moe and their daughter Dylan; Jacqueline Moe and her sons Luke Behling and Wilson Behling; Jennifer (Gerard) Ananda and their children Christian and Celestine; and Meredith Sutton. Debbie's family includes her mother: Margie Graber; and her siblings: Guy (Marion) Graber and their children Kate, Holly, and Paige; John Graber and his children Jeremy, David, and Lily; Annette (Scott) Burhop and their children Laci (Josh), Cody, and Landon; and Leann Leisz and her children Tasha (Mick), Adam, and Casey. Marc was preceded in death by his father John Moe and his father-in-law Fred Graber.

A memorial service for Marc will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 8, 2016 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend their thanks to everyone at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care, compassion and helpfulness during this difficult time. Thanks especially to Dr. Nowak, the ER nursing staff, cardiology department, and the chaplain. We will never forget your kindness.

Marc will be remembered as a devoted family man who was courageous enough to follow his dreams and live life in his own way.
