Age 101, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 07, 2001.
Mabel was born on September 15, 1899. Mabel was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic church. She graduated from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a teaching degree, and taught school, piano and vocal. She was a member of the Christian Mothers. Mabel is survived by five daughters, Ellen Le May, Weyauwega; Joan Below, Neenah; Middy (Hank) Emmers, Appleton; Gretchen (Don) Schoepke, Judy (Ron) Fischer, Appleton; one son, Jack (Kim) Van Rooy, Winneconne; 3 daughters-in-law, Pat Van Rooy, Marti Van Rooy, Jerri Van Rooy; one son-in-law, Dan Ponschock; 56 grandchildren, 130 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; one daughter, Mary Ponschock; three sons, David (Gail), Tom, and Larry; two sisters, Lillian Vader and Mildred Hinkens; one son-in-law, Earl Le May.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH (410 West Lawrence Street) with Fr. John Holly, OFM Cap. officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service (10:30 a.m.).
