Lynne E. Shaw

Lynne Elizabeth Shaw (Haessly), age 70 of Appleton, WI joined her heavenly kingdom on September 21, 2026. She was born to Gordon and Jessica (Sheridan) Haessly on April 20, 1956 in Fond du Lac, WI. After graduating from Fond du Lac High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science from UW Oshkosh and went on to become a vet tech for over 40 years before her happy retirement. Lynne married the love of her life, Russell Shaw in March of 1994 and together, they united their families.

Lynne was possibly the most friendly person you could ever meet. Nobody was a stranger to her – just a friend she hasn’t met yet. Lynne loved animals and took pride in raising 9 furry companions through the years, even fostering some more dogs periodically throughout her life with Russ. She was proclaimed by others as “the dog whisperer of Appleton”. Lynne also enjoyed gardening and spent much of her free time planting a beautiful flower garden for her beloved butterfly neighbors. She was always one to live in the moment and savor every memory with her loved ones. Atop the truths she held most dear, Lynne had a deep conviction in her faith and trusted in her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She loved all of God’s creations – large, small, human, and animal, and she was loved by all of them back.

Lynne will be deeply missed by her husband, Russ; her stepson, Aaron (Traci); her grandchildren, Ava and Ellie Mae; her sister, Kathy (Rich); her sisters-in-law, Iona (Roman), Janet (Bobby), Kelly (S.O. Tony), Bonnie, and Sue; her special friend, Rose; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Lynne is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Jessica; her parents-in-law, Robert Sr. “Bob” and Minnie; her brothers-in-law, Robert Jr. and Doug; and her numerous furry companions.

A memorial visitation will be held for Lynne from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a memorial service to follow at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local humane society in honor of her love for our fuzzy friends.

Lynne’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff at Valley VNA Care and Heartland Hospice for all of their compassionate care given to Lynne during her time of need.
