Lynn A. Schmidt

April 14, 1956 — August 17, 2018

Lynn Ann Schmidt’s beautiful and kind soul passed from this world on the evening of August 17, 2018. Lynn suffered a cardiac arrest that her body was unable to recover from due to the damage. Lynn's family would like to thank the EMTs and people involved in performing CPR for 47 minutes and who were able to help recover her heartbeat which allowed her to be placed in a medically induced state. Miraculously, after 48 hours, Lynn regained consciousness to say her parting goodbyes to her loving daughter, Heide, devoted son, Craig, and her adoring family. As her family held her hands, Lynn passed on to be with her soulmate, Patrick, who departed this world a little over two years ago from cancer. As Lynn's family is deeply saddened for their loss, we find peace and comfort knowing that Lynn has reunited with her husband, Pat; her sister, Sharon; and parents, Louis and Dorothy, among many family and friends who have gone to heaven before her. Lynn's final moments were under a beautiful rainbow at Theda Clark Medical Center with her favorite music playing in the background. Lynn's family is grateful for the Cardiac team, Pallative Care, and ICU nurses for their care and compassion.

Lynn always lived her life with no apologies until the day she parted, she did everything the way that she wanted to. Lynn always had a smile and greeting for those she knew and enjoyed spending time with her family and a great book. If you needed advice or someone to listen, Lynn was always happy to help. Throughout her life, Lynn enjoyed crafts, sewing, making doll clothes, gardening, walking with her husband, a good swim, funny comedic movies, as well as, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and The Moody Blues. Lynn's sweet smile and contagious laugh could lighten up a room and those who knew her believed she was an angel.

“Mom, while the short time you were with us has gone too soon, we are proud to be the generous and kind adults you created and helped grow into strong and independent people. We will teach our children to be happy, smart, and courageous as you and Dad were throughout your lives. No one could have asked for a better example of strength, honesty, and compassion for others. We will keep shining your lights of empathy and love for others and the world. Thank you for such an amazing example of what true and unconditional love looks like every day, we hope we can make you just as proud as we are to call you our parents. Your loving children.”

Pat and Lynn’s wish was for their combined remains to be spread at a site that was dear to their hearts. A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on September 21, 2018 from 4- 8 PM at Whiting Boathouse, 98 5th St, Neenah, WI 54956.
