Lyle D. Ratzburg, age 91, passed away peacefully Friday morning, September 20, 2024, at his residence at Dimensions Living in Appleton.
He was born on November 14, 1932, to the late Louis and Adeline Ratzburg, in Marion, WI. Lyle continued running the family farm until moving to Appleton in 1962. On October 3, 1959, he married Rojene Richardson, and they raised 2 children. After his retirement from the Appleton Water Department in 1993, he and Rojene enjoyed traveling North America and Europe. Lyle was a skilled all-around craftsman, building his own home and assisting in construction projects for his family, as well as helping with projects and functions at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, where he was a parishioner.
He is survived by his two children, Cindy (Todd) Ward, Dale; David (Mary) Ratzburg, Greenville; sister Pat (Wayne) Dieck, Milwaukee; nieces, other relatives, and friends; and a special niece, Connie (Tim) Beyersdorf and their children, Tailyn, and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rojene Ratzburg in 2008, parents Louis and Adeline Ratzburg and brothers Frederick and Harold Ratzburg.
The funeral liturgy for Lyle will take place on Friday October 4, 2024, at 11:00am, at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Drive, Greenville, WI. Friends and family may gather at the church from 10:00am until mass begins. Lyle will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
The family gives a deep and gracious thank you to the entire staff and the community at Dimensions Living in Appleton, for the sharing, giving, loving and patience putting up with his shenanigans. Also, a sincere thank you to Brooke & Tanya from Moments Hospice for their tenderness and compassion, we will be forever grateful.
