McCarthy, Lorraine
Lorraine McCarthy, 94, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Appleton Medical Center. Lorraine was born on May 21, 1915 in Black Creek to Frank and Barbara (Linsmeyer) Duffek. She married Michael McCarthy on June 28, 1941. Lorraine worked at the Pacon Corporation for 32 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton and enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, feeding the birds, squirrels and rabbits, and most of all, babysitting the boys. Lorraine is survived by Barb and Dan Carpenter, and their boys; Zach, Adam and Tyler Carpenter, her cousins; Margaret Linsmeyer, Loretta Steffens and Mathilda Hermus, other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Leo Duffek, two sisters, Alma (Clifford) Bungert and Lydia (Owen) Hardy and her cat and best friend; Chester.
A funeral service for Lorraine will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Highland Memorial Park in the STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL (3131 N. Richmond St.)at 11:30 AM with Father Andrew Kysely officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the Chapel. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bonnie and Evan Carpenter and the staff at 3 southwest at Appleton Medical Center.
