Lois Grace Wendt, age 96, a child of God, was called home on January 1, 2024. Lois was born September 11, 1927, in Antigo, daughter of the late Leonard and Verna (Pautz) Parsons. She was a graduate of the Antigo High School, and on June 10, 1950, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in the town of Polar, Wisconsin, she married Wilburn Wendt. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Lois grew up in a farm family in Polar, Wisconsin, along with her four sisters, where she learned the real meaning of hard work. As a young girl she learned the values of faith and family. Lois became active in the church, and her ministry in Christ will continue by the people she touched during her time of grace on earth. She held multiple office jobs in the Fox Valley over the years, but finished her career at AAL (Thrivent). Her love languages were cooking and baking for those she loved – many were the recipients of her kitchen treasures. She loved flowers and gardening and surrounded herself with friends family at every opportunity. A prankster and a card shark, she set out to win every match she entered. She was always impeccably dressed and never went anywhere without her lipstick. A classy lady and a mother to all – but the love for her grandchildren made her light up with joy.
Lois is survived by her children: Robert (Barb) Wendt and Pamela Hall; a daughter-in-law Kathleen Wendt; grandchildren: John (Karen) Wendt, Rebecca (Dan) Johnson, Rachel Wendt, Carrie (Steve) Grant, William (Rachel) Wendt, Ryan (Holly) Wendt, Daniel (Casey) Hall, Paige (Alex) Rivera, and Sabrina Hall. Her great-grandkids include Austin, Peyton, Addison, Makai, Alex, Bridget, Kaylee, Corinne, Dominik, Noah, Caidence, Brantley, Mia, Rio, and Avi. There is also one great-great-granddaughter Everleigh.
There is also a sister: Emily Parsons and two sisters-in-law Eleanor Dahlke and Jane Drieske, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Timothy, sisters: Charlotte (Sylvester) Holub, Elva (Herbert) Brandt, Thelma (David) Goese. Wilburn’s deceased relatives include his siblings: Violet Viitanen, Marvin Wendt, Donald (Gerry) Wendt, Doris (Marty) Vollmer, Art Dahlke, and Eugene (Judy) Wendt.
The funeral service for Lois will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 124 W. 10th Street in Kaukauna, with Rev. Rod Krueger officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. Visitation will take place directly at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Elder Services for their love and concern during her time under their care. We will always remember your love and compassion.
