Lois Emma Thorson, age 89, of Kaukauna, passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Lois was born on April 13, 1926, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, to the late Charles and Dorothy (Fletcher) Neuman. She married Russell I. Thorson in 1943; he preceded her in death on March 30, 1999.
Lois enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, game shows, tending to her flowers, chocolate and maple nut candy; music; and dancing at the Roxy with her husband. She was well known for making the best pies in the world.
Survivors include her children, Andrea (John) Crane, Iola; Linda Thorson, Little Chute; Russell E. (Deborah) Thorson, Appleton; and David (Jane) Thorson, Appleton; her grandchildren, Greg (Maria Huebner) Crane; Stephanie (Dwayne) Puckett; Laurie (Christopher) Hauber; Kevin Chambers, Craig Chambers; Lisa Hackett (John Phillips, fiancé); Beth (Jen) DeGrace; Timothy (Kelly) Thorson; Peter Thorson and Austin Thorson (Haleigh Casto, fiancé). She is further survived by 11 great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Meverden and her brother, Virgil Neuman.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, with Deacon Rick Simon officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at St. Paul Home for their loving care, and especially her neighbors who graciously helped her over the years.
