Johnson, LeRoy S.

LeRoy S. Johnson, age 90, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Crestwood Senior Living in Neenah. He was born on May 22, 1919, the son of the late Swan and Emma (Dahl) Johnson. On July 12, 1941, he married his loving wife, Ardyce Olson, who precedes him in death. LeRoy was an honest, hardworking, lifelong dairy farmer in the Wittenberg area. He loved family gatherings, lilacs, watching westerns, eating anything made from potatoes and loved his sweets. In his spare time, LeRoy was proud of his woodworking and made many lawn ornaments that would be sold locally. LeRoy was also a dedicated family man, provider and member of Zion Lutheran Church.

LeRoy will be sadly missed by his loving children: Lois (Marlin) Fiestadt of Appleton, Gerald (Linda) Johnson of Hortonville, Sandra (Tom) Wanta of Mankato, MN; grandchildren: Lonnie (Tom) Thorne, Chadwick Fiestadt, Tammy Scovronski, Melissa (Kevin) Warning, Robin (Todd) Johnson-Pierre, Becky (Eric) Libby; great-grandchildren: Madison, Sawyer, Scott, Ben, Karlie, Cole, Jaxon, Cade, Madeline and sisters-in-law: Lillian Hussong and Joyce Olson. LeRoy is preceded in death by his sisters: Alice Zielke, Ada Lenz, Linea Schultz, Ettie Damrau, Lillie Lipke-Brevik; brothers: Alvin Johnson and Vernon Johnson and brother-in-law and good friend, Ardell Hussong.

Funeral Services for LeRoy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private family interment will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery in Wittenberg.

LeRoy's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Crestwood Senior Living for all their wonderful care of their dad.

In lieu of flowers, LeRoy's family has established a memorial fund.
