Leona Seidl, age 92, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013. She was born on August 17, 1920 in Isaar, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Meyer) Sigl. On May 3, 1941, Leona married Michael Seidl at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Leona enjoyed reading, playing cards, and surrounding herself with family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Seidl, James (Donna) Seidl, Sharon Keddell, Michael Seidl, Carol Seidl, Donald (Luann) Seidl, Jack (Jann) Seidl, Robert Seidl, Nancy Greene, Steven (Dianne) Seidl, and Debra (William) Gear; daughter-in-law: Nancy Seidl; 32 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Leona is further survived by her special neighbor, Helen Garrity; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Seidl; two sons: Jerry Seidl and Dick Seidl; sons-in-law: Tom Keddell and Al Greene; granddaughter, Linda Rossettoe and great granddaughter, Molly Seidl; brothers: Paul Sigl and infant Louis, Jr.; sisters: Verona Verkuilen, Rossella Jansen, Agnes Bougie, Viola Van Lannen, Bertha Loewenhagen, Martha Lambert, Clara Leininger, Theresa Matuszak, and Mary Matuszak.
The funeral liturgy for Leona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton. Father Don Zuleger and Deacon Richard Matuszak will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice are appreciated.
