Leanne Bons Splittgerber age 55 loving and loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend of many passed away June 26, 2012 with family surrounding her.
Leanne was born on March 6, 1957 to the late (Peter) and Vivian (Traxler) Bons in Kimberly, Wisconsin. Leanne married Jim Splittgerber on August 29, 1987. They were blessed with two children Kaitlin and Jimmy.
Leanne's interest revolved around family and friends. Leanne enjoyed closeness with so many people enjoying their company, stories and sharing a good laugh. As a young person and even now she had a wanderlust influence by her Father to experience people and places of the world, here and abroad. In college Leanne's declared major was theology this interest was pursued if not formally but throughout life. Making of the family home was also an interest of Leanne's: cooking, landscaping and design were given thought. But Leanne's greatest love and most fascination were given to her husband and kids. The times they were together in Disney World and Alaska will be cherished. To get time with Jim was key, to spend time with the kids divine.
Leanne is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Jim Splittgerber, her children Kaitlin and Jimmy at home. Her mother Vivian, her brothers and sisters, Pete (Carol) Bons, Sally (Paul) Debruin, Liz (Larry) George, and Mike (Tricia) Bons. Nieces and nephews; Sarah, Jon, Kelly, Felicia (Mike), Molly, (Xzavion and Armani) Sam, Renee (Ben), Haley, Becky (Dave), (Jonah, Wyatt), Melanie, Pete (Leah) (Collin) Jacob, Lindsay, Anna. Jim's family: her father-in-law and late mother-in-law, LeRoy Splittgerber, and Mary Jane Splittgerber. Brother-in-law and sister-in Law Mary Lee (Dr. Richard) Odders, Doug (Debbie), Dave (Vickie), nieces and nephews; Carrie (Jason) Ben, Megan, Zachary, Sara (Brandon) Stephanie (John) (Savannah), Steve, Tom, John, Leanne and many wonderful aunts and uncles, cousins and incredible friends.
Leanne requested to give thanksgiving to Jim who kept the faith that we would have children. Through his fortitude and perseverance we maintained a good life. To our most precious children Kaitlin and Jimmy who gave us a much fuller life, a bigger heart and more joy in living. To my mother, Vivian who gave of herself sacrificially, but most of all kept her children happy throughout life. To the great support and good company our brothers and sisters and their families gave us. To our nieces and nephews who were all wonderful to watch grow up.
To Aunts and Uncles who were always there for me, especially, Aunt Sal, Uncle John, Uncle Ant, Aunt Pat, Aunt Marian, Uncle Don, Uncle Ricky, Aunt Rita, Uncle Joe, Aunt Barb, Aunt Coby, Uncle Ted and Aunt Betty and really to all of the rest who I loved. To Cousins I knew so well Linda, Kim, Trax, Sue, Amber, Lori, Linda, Lynn, Mary Pat, Patty and Lisa. To Kimberly friends especially Mary, Ann, Joni, Kathy, Peggy & Sandy and Friends made while Leanne worked at Appleton Papers. To other friends; Mike and Karen, Ben and Pam, Paul and Chris, Wayne and Barb, Brian and Nancy and Tom and Donna and to our neighborhood friends on Grandview Road and Green Grove Road. To new friends and families from ACES, Stephanie, Lori, Tari, Kim, Mary Jayne, Carrie, Mary, Judy, Kris, Carol, Chris, Katy, Kim, Julie, Cindy, Christine, Sherry, Denise, Cheryl, Lisa, Diane, Leanne and Jody Lee and their families and all other ACES families we grew to love. To the very good care my doctor William Guenther, Jen N.P., Nancy N.P., and supportive staff at AMC provided. To Fr. Larry Abler and Sr. Marie Day who helped greatly with spiritual healing. Finally praise and thanksgiving to the Holy Spirit who works through so many cheerful givers to do God's work here on earth.
The funeral liturgy for Leanne will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence St. at 10:30 AM with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM. CAP. Officiating . Friends may call on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida St with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the Church. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Kaitlin and Jimmy's education fund.
