Kevin E. Hubbell, age 38, departed this world on November 25, 2025, at home. He was born on May 16, 1987, to Robert and Joanne (Smith) Hubbell. He grew up in Paddock Lake and graduated from Westosha Central High School. In 2012, Kevin met Hope Overbey and he fell head over heels for her. They truly were two peas in a pod. They married on April 11, 2015, in Texas, and they began their life together.
Kevin and Hope adopted two lovely girls after caring for them through the foster system. Layla and Paisley truly were the children especially chosen for Kevin and Hope and were the light of his life. He loved animals and had a special bond with his dog Sully, who became a pooch brother to Willow.
Kevin and Hope lived in Texas for the first 10 years of their marriage and recently moved to Wisconsin to be nearer family. While in Texas, Kevin served as both an animal control officer and a police officer. The men he served with became true family. Family was everything to Kevin whether by blood or by choice.
He had a gentle way about him and was soft spoken – perhaps with the exception of on the road. He made an impact in his own quiet way. Never one to toot his own horn, he was certainly proud of his professional accomplishments. He had a smile that made everyone feel better.
Kevin infused everything in his life with his brand of humor. He was notorious for “sizing people up” and determining the right moment for his humor to be injected. He was a wonderful listener and made everyone around him feel important because of the focus he placed on them. Kevin was known to find opportunities to photobomb anyone and anywhere.
He loved music of all types and watching movies. He enjoyed learning the lyrics to favorite songs and dissecting them to truly get the most meaning out of them. He loved sharing time with his family watching Star Wars, Mandalorian and on any given day any of “The Lord of the Rings” movies.
Kevin is survived by his wife Hope; daughters Layla and Paisley, parents: Robert and Joanne, siblings: Nicole (Michael) Venturini, Bryan (Crystal) Hubbell, Scott (Kaitlin) Hubbell; nieces and nephews: Ellianna, Emmalee, Derrick, Ashley, Faith, Wesley, Matthew, Felicity, Gwendolyn, Kaylee and another addition on the way. In addition, he is survived by his grandmother Stefania Smith; beloved aunts and uncles, cousins, his godparents and other relatives and friends as well as his police brotherhood.
Kevin is preceded in death his grandparents: James and Ada Hubbell, and Ernest Smith.
