Kenneth "Ken" Gerard Stumpf

April 10, 1958 — August 10, 2023

Appleton

Kenneth “Ken” Gerard Stumpf, 65, passed away on August 10, 2023. He was born in Appleton on April 10, 1958, to Eugene and Cassilda. The youngest of the oldest and the oldest of the youngest. He loved his early years spent with his siblings. He attended elementary school at Holy Angels Darboy where he was a star basketball player #12. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1976. Ken met and fell in love with Nancy Moorehead.  She was the love of his life and best friend. They were married on June 16, 1978, at Holy Angels.

Ken had so much love for his family, his children, and grandchildren. He was a proud and dedicated “Girl Dad.” He worked very hard to support his family, and would do anything for anyone. He was a caretaker for his Godmother, Tekla Hart, until her passing. Ken could spend hours tinkering in his garage or tending to his flowers. He loved his cuckoo clocks, his moped, and his lawnmower. He enjoyed consignment shopping with Nancy. Ken would often take his grandchildren to the park or out hunting trains. He was known to enjoy an ice cold beer now and again, and always left a cup of coffee in the microwave. Christmas was Ken’s favorite holiday, and he would go all out on the celebration and decorations to make it special for his family.

Ken was preceded in passing by his daughter, Cassie Lynn Stumpf; parents, Eugene and Cassilda Stumpf; brother, Donald Stumpf; parents-in-law, Charles and Gladys Moorehead; godparents, Kenneth and Tekla Hart; and a godchild, Jeremy Moorehead.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stumpf; daughters, Shelly (Matt) Aures and Samantha (Matt) Van Lankveldt; grandchildren, Avren and Eleanor Aures, and Hans and Esme Van Lankveldt; siblings, Jeff (Sandy) Stumpf, Carol (Paul) Sheridan, Barb (Mark) Koester, Mike (Lisa) Stumpf, Fred (Karen) Stumpf, Lee (Marie) Stumpf, Chuck (Brenda) Stumpf, Wayne (John Olski) Stumpf, and Sheila (Brad) Schinke; siblings-in-law, Pat (Bill) VanderWeyst, Mary (John) Brose, Charles (Davina) Moorehead, and Jackie (Brian) Garbrecht; a goddaughter, Katie Stumpf; best friend, Randy; beloved dog, Bernie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

A mass for Ken will be held on Saturday, August 26, at 12:00 PM, at Holy Spirit Darboy, W2806 County Road KK, Darboy. A visitation will be held prior, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the Oncology floor at ThedaCare Appleton, Dr. Poola and his staff, ThedaCare at Home, and ThedaCare Hospice.

“Be kind and love each other.”

You were always the calm during a storm reassuring us everything would be okay. Everything you taught us will help to navigate this immense grief we feel without you here. We love you Dad. We will continue to “give hugs and kisses to the babies” every day from you. – Sammy and Shelly.

Kenny, I loved you yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever and more. Till we’re together again go bake that cake babe. Love always and forever – Nancy.
