Kay Lynn Holbrook, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 4, 2024.
She was born on October 28, 1956, the daughter of Francis and Ethel Vander Logt. She graduated from Mishicot High School in 1974. On April 15, 1978, Kay and Rex Holbrook were married in Appleton, Wisconsin and they spent 46 wonderful years together. Kay had a career in advertisement for over 40 years. She would work with TV and radio stations to write, record, and run advertisements. She ended her career at Van Vreedes, running their advertising department and is the person behind their famous jingle.
Kay had a love for animals, raising many dogs and cats. She enjoyed spending her time planting flowers and floating in her pool. She also loved Christmas, and would have the Hallmark channel playing for both the Christmas season and Christmas in July.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Ethel Vander Logt; and her parents-in-law, Bob and Charlotte Holbrook.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Holbrook; daughter, Abbey Holbrook; brother, Roger Vander Logt; siblings-in-law, Terri (Mike) Wagner and Mark (Diane) Holbrook; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A celebration of life gathering will be held for Kay on Saturday, June 29, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for an animal shelter.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Bristol Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
