Kathryn Ann Lux, beloved daughter of Charles and Dorothy Lux, née Hearden, was born on December 31, 1946. She departed peacefully in hospice care on October 2, 2023, after courageously facing an extended illness.
Kathy was a woman of extraordinary passions and independence, finding joy in every corner of life. She was a self-appointed, card-carrying cat lady – she loved her feline friends very, very much. Her love for travel took her to places far and wide. She reveled in nurturing her green thumb, growing herbs and vegetables every Spring and Summer. Kathy's kitchen was a haven where she poured her heart into cooking, especially delighting in the preparation of heirloom family recipes, which she wrote to her family about often. A creative spirit, she found solace in crafting, with a particular fondness for ceramics, especially during the Christmas season. Kathy's voracious appetite for books shaped her world, making her a devoted and lifelong reader, often reading more than 100 books every year.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy, great-niece, Kristen, and great-great nephew, Jaxon. She leaves behind her loving sisters, Judy Brightman of Appleton and Debbie (Dave) Strobel of Menasha; nephew, Scott (Julie) Coon Bee; special niece, Jessica Lemanski; great-nieces and nephews: Abigail (Ryan), Devon, Trenton, Ellie, Justin, Dakota; and great-great niece, Maddie. Kathy's memory will forever be cherished by her devoted nephew Clint Brightman, his wife, Veronica, and their children Madeline, Tyler, Nico, Makenna, and Luca, and granddaughter, Mila.
A memorial service in celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 4, 2023, at Wichmann-Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, WI 54952. Friends and relatives may pay their respects at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. A Rosary Vigil will commence at 10:30.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Fresenius Kidney Care and SSM St. Mary’s Hospital, Hospice, Oncology, and Clinic staff for their years of compassionate and excellent care.
