Kathleen J. Sawlsville

Kathleen “Kay” Janice Sawlsville, age 87 of Kaukauna, WI passed away on March 2, 2026. She was born to the late Henry and Kathleen (Weyenberg) Schommer on February 19, 1939 in Appleton, WI and was raised in Freedom, WI. She worked a number of jobs throughout her life, but was best known for her work as a buses aid for both the Kaukauna School District and Kobussen, delivering meals to those in need.

Kay was probably best known for her sense of humor and wit. She was a very optimistic person and enjoyed laughter. Kay was quite the people person and surrounded herself with friends and family as often as she could. In her spare time, Kay liked knitting and watching shows on the game show network. Her home and her family’s homes were basically filled with blankets and clothing she hand-knit. She was an incredibly strong person, both in her love and her will. More than anything else in the world, though, Kay loved her family and cherished every moment she could spend with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was so proud of everyone she helped raise.

Kay will be deeply missed by her children, Peggy (Tom), Chris, Scott, Michelle (fiancé Daniel), Kerri (Eric), Diane (John), and Jim (Lisa); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry”; her daughter, Vicki; her stepsons, Mike and Jeff; her daughter-in-law, Doll; and her sisters, Alvina, Vivian (Roland), Mary (Doug), Lois (Bob), and Connie (Tom).

A memorial visitation will be held from 9-11 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave, Kaukauna, WI 54130 with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM.

Kay’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and other supporting staff at Brewster Village and ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton for their wonderful care, expertise, and compassion shown to Kay during her time of need.
