CALMES, KATHLEEN A.

Kathleen A. Calmes, age 61, of Appleton, died peacefully at Appleton Medical Center on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Kathleen was born on September 19, 1949, Appleton, to the late Willard and Viola (Salm) Calmes. She graduated from Lawrence University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kathleen was well known as an artist, as an environmentalist, and for her support of Public Radio and Public Television. Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Victor (Lynn) Calmes, Seattle, Washington; Willard (Stephanie) Calmes, Jr., Fremont; Daniel Calmes, Appleton; Mary Calmes (Tim Quintal), Fairbanks, Alaska; and Nicholas (Debra) Calmes, Fremont; her nieces and nephews, Cory Calmes, Chicago; Holly Calmes, Seattle; Sara (Kris) Hoffman, and their children, Kristoffer, Kaitlyn and Molly, Clarkston, Michigan; Christine Calmes, Baltimore, Maryland; Matt (Melissa) Calmes, Chicago; Sam Quintal, Connecticut; and Will Quintal, Alaska; Brock Calmes, Fremont; and Fran (Mitch) Wayne, River Falls, Wisconsin; her special and treasured friend, and caregiver, Jean Talamanco; and her beloved walking partner and dog, Jack. Abiding by Kathleen's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
