Katherine Mae Jacobs

Katherine “Kathy/Cassie” Mae (Grubb) Jacobs, 83, of Appleton, WI, went to sleep Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, and woke up with Jesus after a life well lived. She was born June 16, 1942 in Edgemoor, DE to William and Mary (Fisher) Grubb.

Kathy graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, DE in 1960 as the co-salutatorian. After graduation she worked at DuPont as a secretary. She met Walter L. Jacobs at an Armed Services dance while he was stationed at the Dover Air Force Base and married him Aug. 11, 1962 in New Castle, DE.

After Walter completed his term of service, the two moved to Walter’s hometown of Menasha, WI, where they raised three wonderful children: Steve, Sharon and Janice. Kathy worked in the office at St. Mary Catholic Church and also helped Walter at the family’s business, Towne Auto Sales, until Walter’s unexpected passing May 6, 1991 — three months before the couple’s 29-year wedding anniversary.

Kathy had a heart of gold and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She was extremely intelligent all the way until her passing, loved spending time at the library and had a talent for instantly knowing how many letters were in a word. She loved Jesus and was a faithful servant.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters: Rosalie Bruton and Billie (Fran) Leary of Wilmington, DE.; children: Steve (Terry) Jacobs of Madison, WI, Sharon (Dan) Bailey of Neshkoro, WI, and Janice (Bill) Cross of Menasha, WI; grandchildren: Scott (Laura) Bailey of Marion, Iowa; Jonathan (Alicia) Bailey of Ripon, WI, Jennifer (Kyle) Klarkowski of Appleton, WI, and Jake (Courtney) Cross of Combined Locks, WI; great-grandchildren: Austin and Brooklyn Bailey, Lillia and Haley Klarkowski, and Liam Cross; beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Jacobs; and parents William and Mary Grubb.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 720 W. Lindberg St., Appleton WI. A service will follow the visitation at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Randy Graham officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.

We will be thinking about how very special you are and how blessed we are to have had you in our lives. We will miss you and we will love you forever.
