Karen Renee Kamine, of Appleton, passed away on February 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer. Born and raised in Appleton, daughter of the late Gordon Redenz and Shirley Bretl, Karen recently celebrated her 69th birthday on February 5. She attended Appleton East High School and on November 19, 1977, Karen married her soulmate, Peter Kamine. Together they would share 46 years of marriage and raise three children.
Karen was proud to create a loving home for her family. When her children had grown, she worked in the deli at the Piggly Wiggly. It was there that she discovered a passion for cooking and baking, recreating many delicious recipes. She also enjoyed crocheting and had a deep love for her dogs. She and Pete enjoyed traveling with several trips to Jamacia and Las Vegas. Karen’s family will cherish all the time spent, laughs had, and memories made with her.
Karen is survived by her loving husband: Pete Kamine; their children: Kelly (Kevin) Schmidt, Jaclyn Kamine who sadly passed in 2013, and Andrew Kamine; as well as her grandchildren: Taylor and Parker Schmidt. She is further survived by her siblings: David Redenz and Debbie Kahler.
She was reunited in heaven with her daughter, parents, and her brother Steven Redenz.
A private family service was held.
