Karen J. Schoenian, age 49, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Colony Oaks Care Center, Appleton. She was born on October 3, 1959 in Milwaukee; daughter of Siegfried and Lois (Lemke) Schoenian. Karen graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with her registered nursing degree. She worked for over 20 years with St. Elizabeth Hospital and also with Manor Care in Appleton. She loved flowers and reading and was an avid Packer fan. She is survived by her parents, Siegfried (Lois) Schoenian, Appleton and her brother Tom Schoenian, Appleton. Funeral services for Karen will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2330 E. Calumet St., Appleton with Rev. Gary Nokleberg officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
