Judith Lynn Merritt

Judith (Judy) L. Merritt, age 81 passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, at her home in Appleton, WI.  She was born in Marinette, WI, on September 22, 1941 to Earl and Doris (Hess) Miller.  

Judy called Appleton home for most of her life. She held a variety of jobs over the years but found her true work calling as a loan officer at Wells Fargo.  She truly enjoyed helping people purchase a home and could always find a way to make it happen, even under the most challenging circumstances.  She loved gardening, music, traveling, baseball, and time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Paul) Ristau; grandson Tony (Jessica) Probst; sister Kathy (Bud) Collar; and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and many other good friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richard (Kathy) Miller.
A visitation for Judy will be held Thursday April 13, 2023, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St, Fox Crossing. There will be a second time of gathering at the Tri County Chapel on Friday April 14, 2023, at 10:00am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Middle Inlet, WI.

Judy’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Eagle Point Senior Living for the love and support they provided in her final years; to the staff at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital and Compassus; and especially to Mollie Ritchie who’s loving care and expertise were invaluable and irreplaceable.
