Joseph K. Reis

Joseph K. Reis, age 69, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, after a long battle with MS. Joe was born on September 22, 1954 in Appleton where he spent his entire life. He attended St Mary’s School and graduated from Appleton West HS in 1970.

Joe worked for Presto Products right out of high school where he met his wife Agnes and they were married in 1976. After several years of shift work, he realized he had a passion to be an entrepreneur. He purchased a few duplexes and had a snow plowing business. Later he bought, ran and grew a mini storage facility (Stor-It) and record storage and shredding business (Fox Cities Records Services).

He enjoyed his time at ‘the shop’, spending it with friends and working on cars and trucks. A few of Joe’s favorites were the 1939 Dodge truck, Plymouth Prowler, Dodge Challenger Hellcat and his Plymouth Barracuda.

Joe also loved traveling. Unfortunately, his dream of retiring and touring the US with his RV was cut short by his affliction. Chili was his favorite food, especially with raw onions and an extra kick of pepper. His mother’s famous cheese torte was his favorite dessert and it was made for all special family gatherings.

Volunteer bar tending with his friend Tom at outdoor concerts was a special memory. Tom and Joe often had conversations about who was more frugal; it was a fun competition for them. While Joe will be remembered for being frugal, he was very generous and gave to many charities and churches. He was a dedicated man and provided well for his family.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Arnold Reis, mother Jean Corbett and stepmother Darlene Reis. He is survived by his loving wife Agnes Reis (Berg), his son Jacob (Megan) Reis, son Al Reis and daughter Rebecca (Andrew) Brown. Papa also left behind 5 wonderful grandkids; Oliver, Weston, Jerry, Ellie and Rosalie. They will miss your tractor and 4wheeler rides, whisker rubs, card games and fist bumps.

We would like to thank the team who watched over Joe at Silverstone Memory Care for their compassion and care as well as the hospice nurses (Moments) and Ashley who helped us through this process.

A private service will be held by the family.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
