Joseph “Joe” Sirovatka, 61, passed away with his family by his side on February 23, 2026. He was born on November 23, 1964, to his late parents Joseph and Emily (Kons) Sirovatka in Chicago, Illinois.
He was in Stickney, IL, until he was 11, and then his mother moved him and his sister up to Menominee MI, and he graduated from Menominee High School. He married Dana in 1992, and they had 4 daughters together. He worked at Americold as a forklift operator for 28 years. After his divorce, he reconnected with an old flame Tonya, and they were married in 2014. They spent 12 wonderful years together.
He was an avid Chicago sports fan; Bears, Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks.. all of it. He just loved Chicago in general. Even living in Michigan, he considered Chicago his home. He also loved his little dogs – Rufus, Peanut, and Buster Brown. He even had a parakeet named Butchie. He enjoyed being outside and taking in the views and spotting any wildlife. He had a Big Brother by the name of Wayne who played a big role in Joe’s love of nature. They went camping together and Wayne taught Joe how to shoot a bow. Joe even has a trophy from how skilled he was.
Joe is survived by his wife Tonya, daughters: Cassandra (Eric) O’Dell, Camille Sirovatka, Danielle (Evan) Walters; stepsons: Casey Pennings, Christopher Pennings; Big Brother Wayne Thoune, sister Cindy Wilsey, niece Katie and nephew Tim, and many good friends and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Crystal, and furry companions Rufus and Peanut.
There will be a funeral service on Sunday March 1, 2026, at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel – 1592 S Oneida St. Menasha WI 54952, with the visitation being from noon to 3pm, with a service starting at 3. Deacon Don will be officiating.
The family would like to thank the Neuro and ICU teams at Theda Care for taking such good care of Joe, especially nurses Hannah and Cassie. And thank you to all the family and friends who supported Joe through his struggles. It means more than you know.
