ENGELHARDT, JOSEPH “Joe”

Joseph “Joe” Engelhardt, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. He was born October 13, 1919 in Hungary, the son of the late Adam and Theresa (Schreir) Engelhardt. He married Louise Schneider on July, 1951 in Germany and they emigrated to Canada in the 1950's, and later lived in the Chicago area before settling in Appleton in 1985.

Joe worked for Bell and Howell for many years, and always kept a good garden, which he loved puttering in.

Joseph is survived by his wife: Louise; daughter: Margaret Carpenter; two grandchildren: Amanda (Jeff) Hofkens, Jim (Amy) Carpenter, and a great-granddaughter: Danielle Carpenter. Joseph had two brothers: Adam and Simon and a sister: Ava.

Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton at a later date.
