John R. Kosiorek

February 29, 1948 — January 23, 2017

John R. Kosiorek, 68 years, passed away after a long illness, at his brother's home, in Harrison, Wisconsin. He was born February 29, 1948 to his loving parents, Bernard J. and Patricia M. (Arft) Kosiorek, in Neenah, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Menasha, Wisconsin Class of 1966. John attended UW-Madison prior entering the US Army. He served as a missile technician in Wiesbaden, Germany from 1969 to 1971. He returned to UW-Madison and later began a career at the USPS as computer /electronic service technician.

John was a skilled woodworker, filling his home with custom furniture which he crafted in his own wood-shop. He was a bee keeper and raised chickens with his dog “Zeke” at his side. He was also the family go to for all computer related issues. John was a free spirt who described himself as a gun owning liberal.

John will be dearly missed by his mother, Patricia Kosiorek, siblings Thomas (Mary) Kosiorek, Richard (Judy) Kosiorek, Gary (Bonnie) Kosiorek, and Debbie (Joseph) Thiel, many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Marlene Straubel. He was preceded in death by his father Bernard.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors for John will be held on June 3, 2017 at 11 am at St. Margaret Mary Cemetery, 1201 Oakridge Rd., Neenah, Wisconsin.
