John R. James

John James, age 60, passed away at his home on Monday evening, February 6, 2012. John was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 15, 1951, son of the late John R. James, Sr. and Lorraine (Potter) James who resides in Appleton. He graduated from Appleton East High School, attended Fox Valley Technical College, and prepared for his Commercial Driver's License at Truck Driver Training School in Sun Prairie. John drove truck for many years, most recently for Van Groll Trucking in Kaukauna.

John was an excellent handyman who could fix anything and everything. He also enjoyed NASCAR and spending time at Long Lake. His eight grandchildren were the apples of his eye – they will miss him so much.

Survivors include his wife: Valerie (Larson) James of Appleton; his mother: Lorraine (Potter) James of Appleton; four sons: Patrick James of Appleton; Michael James of Kaukauna; Phillip (Pam) James of DePere; and Peter (Erin) James of Kimberly; eight loving grandchildren: Ethan, Kaylee, Emily, Madeline, Tyler, Alex, Hannah, and Jaxon; three sisters: Mary (Brian) Blazer of Door County; Susan Werner of Appleton; and Julie (Randy) Bootz of Appleton; two brothers: Mark James of Appleton and David James of Appleton; and three brothers-in-law: Mark (Amy) Larson, Barry Larson, and Don Larson. John was preceded in death by his father, his in-laws: Rudolph and Dorothy Larson, and a brother-in-law: Gary Larson.

A private service has been scheduled for the comfort of his family.
