John R. Hannemann

John R. Hannemann. Age 74, passed away on April 21, 2025. John was born on January 16, 1951, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton to the late Harold and Frances (Taylor) Hannemann. John graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1969. He then went to work for the City of Appleton in 1970. He worked for the City of Appleton for 27 years. After he left the City, he worked for various trucking companies including driving the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill.

John married the love of his life, Linda (Bogenschutz), on October 14, 1972. In 1977, they added two sons, Jeffrey (Alison) and Brian (Lexi) Hannemann. They also have seven grandchildren: Kylie, Carson, Lilly and Ava Hannemann, Vinny and P.J. Fett, and Mason Welsh.

John is also survived by two brothers: Gary (Dianne) and Steve (Connie) Hannemann along with two brother-in-laws: Steven (Jeanne) and Paul (Judy) Bogenschutz, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by a brother, William, grandparents

Reinhold and Matilda Hannemann and Jack and Lily Taylor; In-laws Arthur and LaVerne Bogenschutz; and a niece, Gina Bogenschutz along with many other relatives.

The Christian Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, W7265 School Road, Greenville, WI. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. John will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.

John’s family would like to thank the staff at Cherry Meadows in Appleton along with the ThedaCare Hospice team for their compassionate care of John and our whole family. We are sincerely appreciative.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
