Joanne T. Ste.Marie, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. She was born on July 6, 1932, in Appleton, the second of seven children to Joseph and Teresa (Niewenhuis) Kohl.

Joanne graduated from Appleton High School and was united in marriage to Vincent Ste.Marie on June 9, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2011. She spent her time being a mother in all facets and helping Vince build his business, Vince Ste.Marie Insurance Agency. Joanne and Vince enjoyed traveling, especially to where it was warm. She will be remembered most as an amazing mom to her five children.

Joanne is survived by 5 children: Michael Ste.Marie, Dreux Ste.Marie, Lisa (Marty) Blohm, Terri Jo (Darwin) Tesch, and Timothy Ste.Marie; 3 grandchildren: Vin (Andrea) Ste.Marie, Tiffany (Seth) Lathrop, and Jack Tesch; 1 great grandchild: Carter Lathrop; a brother: Donald (Jackie) Kohl; a brother-in-law: Donald Collar; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joanne was further preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law: Vincent R. and Marion Ste.Marie; and siblings: Bernice (Bud) Albrecht, Corene Collar, Shirley (Reg) Lamers, Joyce Kohl, and Katheryn Kohl; brother- and sister-in-law: Adrian Ste.Marie and Gimmie Ste.Marie (Copus).

Funeral liturgy will be held at 1030AM, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, or St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, 101 E. Northland Ave., Appleton.

Joanne’s family would like to thank Diane and Romain with Senior Helpers for the care, compassion, and kindness over the last few years. They would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fr. John Kleinschmidt for praying with and anointing Joanne.
