JoAnn W. Schulz

Age 85, passed away on Monday April 9, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. JoAnn was born February 7, 1922 in Appleton daughter of the late Cy and Bert Wassenberg. She was married to Vernon Schulz on June 5, 1943 in Taft, California. They were married for 56 years, before his death on August 24, 1999. JoAnn was a Life Master with the Fox Valley Duplicate Bridge Association. She enjoyed golfing, going to the cottage in Winneconne, fishing and boating. JoAnn is survived by her children; Chuck (Judy), Anaheim, California; Sue (Jim) Bednarowski, Kaukauna; Bill (Mary), Menasha; Kay (John) Long, Long Beach, California; Maureen (Gary) Kaczorowski, Clintonville; Jan (Mark) Brinkman, Pickerington, Ohio; Joe (Karri), Appleton. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister Pat (Bill) Riehl, Menasha; a brother, Paul (Mary) Wassenberg, Menomonee Falls, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Roman Wassenberg, and a sister Theo Fourness.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday April 12, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
