JoAnn T. Vandeyacht

JoAnn Theresa Vandeyacht (Lauer), age 94 of Combined Locks, WI passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of July 25, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1932 in Stephensville, WI to John and Magdalena “Lena” (Kettner) Lauer at home on their dairy farm. The family included six siblings: the two youngest, St. Antonice Lauer and Anton (Grace) Lauer survive her.

JoAnn married Arthur John Vandeyacht of Little Chute on September 4, 1952. They built a home in Combined locks where they raised 8 children and lived happily together for 52 years - all throughout those years involved with many parish, school, and community events.

In her free time, JoAnn was active as a docent for the Grignon Historical Mansion re-enactments, a supporter of local Special Olympic events with her son, Charles, and designed and sewed banners for her churches. She never missed a school or community band concert. Always an artist at heart, JoAnn enjoyed painting, crafting, and sewing – particularly dolls, teddy bears, and lots of clothes! She especially enjoyed making quilts.

JoAnn will be deeply missed by her children, Ann Betz, Julie Vandeyacht, John (Cheri) Vandeyacht, Charles Vandeyacht, Sue (Mike) Kelderman, Steve Vandeyacht, and Paul Vandeyacht; her son-in-law, Jim Worden; her grandchildren, Brian (Alicia McGiffen) Vandeyacht, Jonathan Vandeyacht, Lindsey Vandeyacht, Sarah (Taylor Dahlen) Kelderman, Theresa Kelderman, and Eric Worden; her great-grandchildren, Sophia Dahlen, Ryleigh Vandeyacht, and Gavin Vandeyacht; her sister-in-law, Roseann (Norbert) Lauer; as well as many nephews, nieces, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Vandeyacht; her daughter, Karen Worden; her siblings, Leon (Betty) Lauer, Norbert Lauer, and Mary (William) Derks; her parents, Lena and John Lauer; and her step-father, Anton Lauer, Sr.

A funeral visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, W2806 County Highway KK, Appleton, WI 54915 with a mass to follow at 11:30 AM. JoAnn will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Paul Cemetery in Combined Locks, WI.
