Joan Joyce Jenson, 91, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023.
She was born on September 12, 1932, in Menasha, Wisconsin, to Rupert and Hattie Lehman.
She married the love of her life; Phillip Donald Jenson, and they raised 4 beautiful children together.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Menasha, and then worked for the Banta Paper Mill, the Institute of Paper Chemistry and later became a dental assistant.
She took a Catholic pilgrimage to Europe, visiting Portugal, France, Italy and other countries. Her group traveled on the SS Constitution. It was a memorable trip for her!
First and foremost, Joan was a faithful and devoted Catholic. She prayed the rosary every day and led the rosary at St. John the Baptist Parish in Menasha for several years.
She invested her life into her home, focusing on being a remarkable wife and mother, and instilling her faith and values in her children. This was most important for her.
In her spare time, she loved to read and would also spend time journaling. She also enjoyed travelling, visiting Alaska and Hawaii multiple times to visit her children. Her last trip was to Israel to visit the Holy Land.
Joan is survived by her children, Stephen, David, Diane (Mark Transue) Pankratz and Karen (Randy) Hanstad, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, her parents, her brother Rupert Jr. and sister Arlene.
Funeral Mass for Joan will take place at St. Michael's Chapel (1782 Chappelle Rue, De Pere, WI 54115) on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Menasha, WI.
