Joan M. Hamann

March 25, 1939 — October 24, 2025

Appleton

My name is Joan “Joanne” Marie Hamann, age 86, and I passed away to my heavenly home with my family by my side on October 24, 2025, in Appleton, WI. I was born March 25, 1939, to the late Arnie and Luella (Langner) Holt in Butternut, WI. I was united in marriage to Roger Hamann on February 27, 1959, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut. We shared 59 years and 5 months together until he passed away on September 25, 2018. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. He was such a great guy. I still love you Rog.

I proudly worked for Wisconsin Bell, in today’s world, it is now AT&T, retiring after 331/2 years. I touched and enriched many lives by sharing kindness and love to all. I was always there offering a helping hand when needed.

Roger and I were blessed with a daughter and 2 sons: Roger, Jr., Rhonda and Randy. Roger Jr. has three children: Racheal, Rebecca & Ryan; Rachael had twins Piper and Cyrus. Cyrus is deceased at the age of 11. Rebecca has 2 children: Jaidyn & Kimber and twin stepsons Logan and Mason. Ryan has a daughter, Rowen and a stepdaughter. I am further survived by my sister Delores “Dee”, 2 half-sisters: Nancie and Judi; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and my loving Yorkie Jaxon. I am further preceded in death by my mother Luella; half-brothers: Ray, Ed and his son, and half-sister Charlotte who has three sons.

At my request, my family will have a private celebration of my life, and I will join my husband Roger at Butternut Union Cemetery.

A special thank you to family, friends, neighbors and ThedaCare Appleton as well as Cherry Meadows Hospice staff for all their care and compassion given to me. We will be forever grateful.
