Joan M. Bauer

Joan Marilyn Bauer, nee Krueger, was called home to eternal life August 26, 2026. Joan was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with her loving parents, Herbert and Lily Krueger, her dear brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sherry Krueger, along with numerous aunts, uncles, family members, and friends.

Joan was a beloved mother to Jeffrey (Julie), Jennifer (John) Eberhardt, John Jr. (Heidi), and Julie (Mark) Luther. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Kasandra, Konner, Kourtney (Joshua), Matthew, Brianna, Braden, Isaiah, Samuel, Benjamin, Maximus, and Ellianna; great-grandmother to Royal, Jax, Joshua Jr., Annabella, Gabriel, and Emanuel.

Beginning her professional journey as a schoolteacher, Joan later transitioned to banking and finally enjoyed a rewarding 22-year career as a district representative with AAL/Thrivent, establishing many great friendships and helping countless people secure their financial future.

Blessed with the love of quilting, crocheting, and knitting, her many projects reflect her love and creativity, and will be treasured by her family for years to come. She loved to spend time in Florida, play cards, garden, nurture her bonsai, and she also treasured the love and companionship provided by her dogs - Mozart, Teddy, and Winston.

She had an infectious laugh that, once started, could last for quite a while for no apparent reason to the delight of those laughing with her.

Joan raised her children in the Christian faith, a guiding light that she leaned on during her final years as her health declined. She will be deeply missed by her family, but there is great comfort knowing that there is no more pain and suffering, and she is free and at peace.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 8th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, with a service following at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 930 E. Florida Avenue, in Appleton.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers at Copperstone Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
