Jeff “Harry” Van Rossum, 73, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1951, (his mother’s birthday) to his parents John and Agnes (Hartzheim) Van Rossum in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Harry was raised in Appleton with his siblings. He attended Appleton East High School and left to join the United States Army in 1969. He bravely served our country for 2 years. When he was discharged, he decided to enjoy life.
He liked to go fishing and hunting, riding his bike, bowling with his brother, and playing cards. He loved spending time with his family and siblings. In his later years, he developed a taste for painting and writing. He was a fun loving and easy-going guy.
Harry is survived by his siblings: Jack (Karen) Van Rossum, David Van Rossum, Mary Gilkey, Stephen (Joanne) Van Rossum, Susan (Tom) Raatz, Mark (Mary) Van Rossum, Patty (Mike) Baumgart, Michael (Jodi) Van Rossum and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew John Van Rossum, niece Erica Baumgart.
There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday May 20, 2025, at Wichmann Funeral Home from 3:30 – 5pm, at 537 N Superior St. Appleton WI 54911. Burial will take place at a later time.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Autumn, Harry’s guardian, for all the help with his family towards the end, and his caregiver Lori Wright for providing loving care, a home, and letting Harry be Harry for the last 10 years.
