Jean A. Wilmsen, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 8, 2009. She was born on October 24, 1933, the daughter of the late James and Maymie Miller. Jean graduated from Menasha High School in 1952. She was married to her devoted husband, Fred Wilmsen for 38 years. He preceded her in death in 1991. Jean volunteered at the St. Joseph Food Pantry. She was very active and enjoyed line dancing, golf, bowling, shopping, playing cards with friends, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very proud of her four children and loved being a mother. Jean's generous spirit will be dearly missed by her neighbors, friends and family.

Jean is survived by her four children: Linda (Richard) Geschrei of Marco Island, FL; Susan (friend, Ray) Harris of De Pere, Fred (Kelly) Wilmsen of Appleton, and Tracy (Joe) Kandravi of De Pere; grandchildren: Cristine Geschrei; Lane and Blake Harris; Michaeleen, Molly, Annaliese and Estee Wilmsen; and Joey, Timmy, Sara, Mackenzie(Nolan), and Caroline Kandravi; and her siblings; Millie, James, Donny, Dave, Marlene, Richard, Jerry, Russell, and Beverly. She is preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and a son-in-law, Brett Harris.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
