Jean M. Michalkiewicz, 76, passed away on August 15, 2023. She was born in Appleton, WI on November 14, 1946, to Joseph and Marie Michalkiewicz. She was the oldest of 5 children. Jean graduated from Appleton High School in 1966. She had a career in food service and spent 20 years working at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
Jean had a passion for Mickey Mouse and amassed a huge collection. She also loved watching the Green Bay Packers, as well as her favorite show Little House on the Prairie. Jean volunteered her time at the Bethesda Thrift Store. She loved dressing up for each holiday and went all out, covered head to toe in holiday-themed clothing. Jean frequently watched mass on EWTN and prayed the rosary.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Michalkiewicz; a brother, James Michalkiewicz; a niece, Bonnie Michalkiewicz; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Flenz.
She is survived by her siblings, Joan (Fiance Don Vyvyan) Stellmacher, Linda Flenz, Patrick (Melanie Lloyd) Michalkiewicz and sister-in-law Donna Michalkiewicz, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be held for Jean on Monday, August 21, at 10:30 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 S. State Street, Appleton. A visitation will be held prior from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Internment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Appleton at 1:30 PM.
