Janie Carol Miller

Janie Carol Miller, age 70, passed away on November 29, 2025, at Peabody Manor in Appleton. She was born on July 19, 1955, Hanford, CA to the late Noble and Maggie (Basham) Miller. Janie grew up in a household with 15 siblings. On December 17, 1999, she married Kenney Lee Wilson. They met at a laundromat. She was the person who knew how to do the laundry and helped him to separate his laundry. Kenney endeared himself to Janie’s daughter Renee and he became the dad she needed.

Janie focused her energy maintaining the home for her husband and daughter. She loved to cook and enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved. She filled her home with music. She enjoyed animals of all sorts and at one point had a parrot. The family also had many cats and dogs in their home through the years. Janie’s home became a second home to many of Renee’s friends. She enjoyed making easter baskets for the kids and welcomed them into her home as if it was theirs.

Not without her struggles, Janie fought hard to overcome in her life. She always focused on the positive whenever possible. She was stubborn sometimes to a fault-because she so wanted to be self-sufficient. Janie loved her family and was ever proud of her grandchildren.

Janie is survived by her husband Kenney, daughter Renee, grandchildren Destiny, Gloria, Serenity, & Elijah. In addition, she is survived by many of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and many of her siblings.

Janie’s family plans to celebrate her life privately in the future. Please take a moment to celebrate her yourself by preparing a meal for your favorite people.
