Janice Woodke

October 23, 1945 — July 15, 2025

Appleton

Janice “Jan” Woodke, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer, on July 15, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1945, to her parents Charlie and Anna (Sparks) Hiatt in Marian, Indiana.

Jan was raised in Marian until she was in her teens. The family relocated to De Pere and then Appleton. She graduated from East De Pere High School. She went on to work at Kimberly Clark as a research technologist where she met the love of her life Babe (Don Woodke). Together they raised a beautiful, blended family.

She was the busiest retired person you could ever meet. She was fiercely proud to be part of Alcoholics Anonymous for 33 years. She loved to go for walks, taking Spanish classes, going to the casino to play blackjack. She was a cosmetology model for her granddaughter, Jessica. She was also very tech savvy, even helping her daughter and trying to teach Don how to work a smart phone.

She is survived by her husband Don, children Lisa (Matthew) Maas and Rosie Woodke; grandchildren: Angela Larsen, Jessica Larsen, Zacharia Maas; great grandchildren: Hannah, Olivia, Aryana, Landen, Owen, Abryana & Kylah, Maleik, and Oliver; Jeanie Pool, Heather Pool, Brooke Pool, other extended family, and special friend Denny.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister from Indiana, step-father Leo Jorgenson, and many friend and family.

There will be a celebration of life following a graveside service. The service will start at 12:30 on August 1st at Lawrence Cemetery at Sand Acres Dr. De Pere WI 54115
