James Floyd Young was born July 16, 1951 in Milwaukee to Almeda and Floyd Young. Jim was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on October 8, 2022.
Jim relocated to Appleton in 1984, where he raised his daughters. Jim loved music, spending most of his life collecting vinyl. He enjoyed spending time with family, supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities and schooling. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era, serving in the United States Air Force as a mechanic.
He leaves behind his brother Ted (Mary), three daughters Deann Young, Stacy (Tim) Hanson, and Rebecca Young; three step-children: Alex (Gabriela) Sedo, Cheryl (Steve) Pingel, and Pam Ratajczak; 10 grandchildren Amanda (Tanner) Doxtator, Michael (Carrie) Young, Memphis Young, Xandrea Johnson, Drake Johnson, Bastian Young, Kallie Hanson, Ziva Hanson, Matthew Hanson, Grace Hanson; nieces and nephews: Shawn (Denise) Dillow, Dave (Amy) Young and their children Mason and Adysen, Rob (Michelle) Young and their children Tyler and Aaron, and Jeanne Young and her daughters Sabrina and Maria; nephew-in-law Thomas Ramey, step-grandchildren Lydia Hanson, Evelyn Hanson, Mauretta Hanson, Ryan Pingel, Caitlyn Pingel, Grayson Ratajczak, and Sawyer Ratajczak; and 3 living great-grandchildren Tony, Carson, and baby Ayla (due April 2023).
Jim is met in Heaven by his parents, his sweetheart Sue Sedo, two of his sisters and brother-in-law Betty Lou (Norm) Dillow, LeAnn Young, his niece Chantel Dillow, and two great grand-daughters Aria Doxtator, Anaiya Doxtator and many other friends and family members.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Wichmann Funeral Home 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton Wisconsin 54911. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with a pause at 2:30 PM for the service and sharing of memories. Jim will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
