James Edward Wells

September 22, 1949 — May 14, 2023

Neenah

James Edward Wells succumbed to esophageal cancer on May 14, 2023.  He was born in Indianpolis, IN on September 22, 1949, to Walter and Viginia (Collins) Wells.  Jim was proud of completing his degree at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He was a computer geek before computers were cool-this passion lead him to Computer Science as a career.  Jim was an avid learner whose passion extended to his most recent course taken at FVTC in 2022.

Golf, coin collecting, model railroads and rock-n-roll kept him busy and happy in retirement. He was a bit of a tomato gardener, who always bought too many tomato plants, and also enjoyed planting daisies around the house.

Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years Beth Johnson-Wells, daughters Thea Wells, and Virginia (Alex) Yates and kitties Francis and Duke. He is further survived by a wonderful circle of extended family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Dick and Grace Johnson, and his brother and sister-in-law Paul and Chris Johnson.

A memorial service for Jim will be held Sunday May 21, 2023, at 3:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha.  Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the start of the service.  Jim will be laid to rest at King Veteran’s cemetery.

Shine on you crazy diamond.  We’ll miss you forever.
