Age 49, beloved son, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 after being diagnosed two weeks ago from stomach and bone cancer. He was born in Appleton on April 11, 1962 the son of David and Mary Lutz. He worked for various automotive dealerships, presently with Kolosso, as a service advisor. He enjoyed designing houses, going out to eat, family gatherings, attending Packer games, avidly reading the newspaper, and especially driving his yellow corvette. He will be remembered for being a people person and his spontaneous sense of humor.

Jim is survived by his parents, Mary Lutz (friend, Alan Hankemeier) of Appleton and David (Joannie) Lutz of Little Chute: Scott Lutz of Appleton, Terri (Tom) Wierichs of Greenville, and Diane (Ron) Wilquet of Appleton; two special uncles: Robert McDonald and Jim Gregori; nieces: Heather (Ron) Bearce and Nichole Wierichs; step-brothers: Craig, Cary and Andy Ogden; special friend, Patricia Eckrick; life-long friend, Ken (Sarah) Eslinger; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Nobert and Jane McDonald, and Veronica and Michael Lutz; and aunts: Bette Running-Gregori and Barbara Melzer.

The memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Affinity Hospice for the excellent care shown toward Jim and his family.
