James M. "Jay" Blondin

July 17, 1964 — January 16, 2012

James Blondin, age 47, of Combined Locks, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on July 17, 1964 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of George and Marcia (Krater) Blondin. Jay graduated from Edgewood High School, Madison in 1982 and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UW – Madison in 1987. On October 23, 1999 he married Margery Boots at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez. His working career included Lyco Manufacturing in Sun Prairie from 1987 – 1989, Oshkosh Corporation from 1990 – 2008 and M-B Companies in Chilton from 2008 – 2011. Jay was a loving husband, proud dad, and faithful friend. He was selfless, could fix anything, and was willing to help anyone with projects, especially if it involved an engine and wheels. Jay was active in the community, was a fun soccer coach, and innovative Cub Scout leader. Jay loved life, enjoyed windsurfing, snowmobiling, skiing, off roading and biking. He is loved by many and will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife: Margery Blondin; sons: Thomas and Joshua Blondin; mother: Marcia Krater; siblings: John (Pam) Blondin; Denise (Brian) Morency; Mary Blondin; Anne Blondin Milkes and Liz Gusdorff; mother-in-law: Carol Boots; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mary (Ralph) Van Nuland; James (Joan) Boots; William (Emilie) Boots and Judy (Steve) Boots-Becker and his special uncle: Jack Krater. Jay is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George Blondin; father-in-law, Bob Boots and step-father, Fred Blumers.

The funeral liturgy for Jay will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2012 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue. Father David Beaudry will be officiating. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 2:30 pm until 4:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to his sons' educational fund are appreciated.
