Age 79, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. He was born in Black Creek on December 15, 1931 the son of the late Minard and Esther (Meyer) Grunwaldt. On August 25, 1962 he married his wife of 48 years, Josephine “Jo” DuFrane. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. Jim graduated from UW-Madison and became a pharmacist, working in the Fox Valley Area. He will be remembered for teaching his family the game of golf.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jo; children: Mike (Sandy) Grunwaldt of Farmington, NM, and Kathy (Van) Van Dresar of Eau Claire; brothers: Roy (Val) Grunwaldt and Jack (Carol) Grunwaldt; and sister, Betty Lemke. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee (Betty) Grunwaldt, and his special dog, Sebee.
The memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday July 16, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, Menasha. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassionate care.
