Obituary

James “Jim” Timmers, age 83, of Appleton, filled his final scorecard July 26, 2026. He was born September 12, 1942, the son of Norbert and Elizabeth “Betsy” Timmers. A graduate of Appleton West High School, Jim earned a journeyman machinist certificate from Fox Valley Tech. Jim married the love of his life, Carole Walsh on November 11, 1961, in White Lake, WI and they proceeded to begin their family.

Jim’s passion was camping. He and his family spent summers at Crystal and Firefly Lakes near Minocqua. His other great love was golf. He enjoyed his Monday golf outings with good friend Dave as well as any golf adventure with his grandsons. Following retirement, Jim very much enjoyed wintering in Lake Alfred, Florida. During those years, he and Carole were blessed with wonderful friends with whom they golfed, played cards, swam and otherwise adventured with those fellow snowbirds.

Jim is survived by his four daughters Teri Stollar, Kelly Timmers, Kris (Brian) Zylka, Tracy (Dean Pitt) Reynebeau; grandchildren: Nicole Stollar, Katie (Eddie) Ramsaroop, Laura (Adam Bohnsack) Reynebeau, Eric (Katie Neff) Reynebeau, Matt Reynebeau, Sarah (Zach) Krueger, Rachael Zylka; and great grandchildren: Elliot, Charlotte, and Bryan James. In addition, he is survived by his brother Don (Jan) Timmers, brother-in-law Mike (Nancy) Walsh, sister-in-law Jan Barnes; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carole, his parents, father and mother-in-law Melvin and Genevieve Walsh, and brother-in-law Jim Walsh.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will take place at 4:00pm on Sunday August 23, 2026, at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 2:00pm until the service begins.

A special note of gratitude to the Ascension cancer team for the constant support. In addition, we are grateful to the nursing and physician staff at St Elizabeth Hospital for their compassion and care.
