James "Jim" K. Beasom

January 18, 1946 — April 17, 2024

Appleton

James “Jim” Kenneth Beasom, age 78 of Appleton, WI passed away on April 17, 2024. Jim was born to Kenneth and Jennie (Patton) Beasom on January 18, 1946 in Altoona, PA, the second of seven children. After graduating high school, he worked his way up the corporate ladder of the paper industry and eventually earned his title of environmental engineer before his retirement. It could never be said that Jim was not a hard worker. Jim married the love of his life, Judith “Judy” McIlnay in June of 1968 and together, they raised 2 children and cherished 56 wonderful years together.

If you knew Jim, you knew he was a storyteller and a jokester. His wit and brevity when recounting a tale captured everyone’s attention. Jim was always taking courses, educating himself and learning something new, whether through books or through the computer. He always seemed to know at least a little bit about everything and was unstoppable when playing trivia games. Jim had a generous spirit, wanting to help anyone however he could, and always had enough time for everyone, no matter what. He enjoyed spending his vacation time and his retirement going on trips around the world with Judy, most notably several cruises from Alaska to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, and up the East Coast of the Americas. In his youth, Jim enjoyed rifle hunting as many years as he could. More than anything, though, Jim was a family man who cherished every moment he had with his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Judith “Judy” Beasom; his children, Christopher (Shannon) Beasom and Jill (Cindy) Beasom, Mayz; his grandchildren, Zachary, Cady, and Tony Beasom, and Sebastian and Sheyan Peterson; his sisters, Sandra Powley, Laura Sutton, and Becky (Tim) Reighard; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jennie Beasom; and his brothers, Jeffrey, Michael, and Gary Beasom.

In respect to Jim’s wishes, no services will be held. Instead, his family asks that anyone wishing to honor Jim please leave their fondest memory of him below so they can share in the joy and laughter you had with him. Jim will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park this Summer.
