James Robert Hoffman Sr.

James “Jim” Hoffman Sr., age 75, earned his wings on July 13, 2025, after a battle with congestive heart failure. Born on January 12, 1950, in Kaukauna he was the beloved son to Robert and Dorothy (Hooyman) Hoffman. He graduated from Kaukauna High School. He was a devoted husband and father.

Jim loved growing up with all his siblings and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed Boy Scouts, camping, golfing, fishing and most of all as he got older, he loved playing Santa Claus for all the children.

Jim married Kathleen “Kathy” Fischer on June 24, 1972. Jim and Kathy had 3 boys, his biggest pride and joys. He was a devoted husband and father. He worked at Thilmany Pulp & Paper Mill until his diagnosis of Dementia in 2000.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; his 2 sons -Ron and Fred; his 3 grandchildren-Joplyn Hana, Brynn Marie and Broderick” Brody” James; and he leaves behind his 5 brothers-John, Tom (Barb), Mark, Richard (Rebecca), Barry (Michele); his 2 sisters-Paula (Andy) Brantmeyer and Mary “Huffy” Hoffman; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his son James Robert Hoffman Jr.; his parent Bob and Dottie; his grandparents Lillian and Henry Hoffman, Ramona and Clarence Hooyman; sister-in-law Ann Hoffman; brothers-in-law Jeffrey Fischer and Philip Fischer; niece Ranae (Hoffman) VanZeeland; and nephew Brian Keith Hoffman.

Visitation for Jim will be Monday July 21, 2025, at WICHMANN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a prayer service to follow at 7:00pm. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to assist with burial costs.
