Jack D. Emnott, Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jack D. Emnott Jr., who left this world on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He knew the first night he met a young and beautiful Sherilyn Lorge that she was the one, even having the confidence to talk about the names of their future children on the first date. “Some things are meant the be”, as they were married nearly 52 years. Despite the hardships that presented themselves over this span of time, their love endured and grew. With this devotion to one another came their four children, who Jack provided for and protected unwaveringly. His love for and pride in his children was only surpassed by that of his grandchildren, who he also adored.

Jack grew up in Sheboygan. He was a very talented musician, although was particular with his audience. Whether it was jamming on his drum set in the basement on Hilltop Drive or rocking the guit-fiddle at Wings Inn to the sound of the William Tell Overture, anyone lucky enough to have heard him play remembers it fondly. His love for music was instilled in his children who know every second of In-A-Gada-Da-Vida by heart.

His working years were spent with WE Energies, formerly Wisconsin Electric. He was proud to be a lineman there for the better part of his career. Not only was he a dedicated worker, never afraid to go out into a violent thunderstorm to restore electricity to his community, but he was also a well-respected teacher, helping to launch the careers of many young people looking to follow his same path.

Anyone who knew Jack knew that his love for his wife and family was only paralleled by his affection for hunting. The cabin was his home away from home. Those walls hold countless memories (or sometimes lack thereof), laughter, and money won and lost during marathon games of Buck Up lasting to the wee hours of the following morning, surrounded by family and friends, warmed by the wood burning cook stove. Hunting for him was so much more than the excitement of the hunt, it was about comradery, shared traditions and lifelong memories, woven together with his appreciation for the beauty and solitude of the woods.

The path of Jack’s life was not an easy one, but he paved it until he couldn’t. His perseverance is a testament to his strength of character and his eternal optimism. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheri, who was always on and by his side. His children: Lydia, Jackson (and his beautiful wife, Stefanie), Chase (and his beautiful wife, Jenn), and Alethia. His grandchildren: Piper, Stella, Oakley, Lily, Ozzy, Vivian, Everett, and Aydan. His sister, Sharon, and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Sr. and Faye Emnott, his parents in law, Robert and Armella Lorge, his brothers in law, Butch Lorge, Al Barten and Keith Neese, and his beloved Labrador companions, Gus, Moose, Hank and Joe.

In honor of Jack and his passion for hunting, a celebration of life will be held on his favorite day of the year, opening weekend of the WI bow hunting season (September 12, 2026), at his

favorite place in the world, the Helvetia Hilton. We love him madly, and will miss him endlessly, but we take comfort knowing now he can hunt in peace…we envision him walking delicately through the woods to the Kellyboard, bow in hand, surrounded by trophy bucks, a calm smile on his face, and his four-legged hunting buddies by his side.
