Iris Landwehr Forseth Bockin age 86, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, February 11, 2010. She was born in Sheboygan on July 10, 1923, and married Gordon Forseth on Christmas Day, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1982. On October 4, 1998, Iris married Gene Bockin of Appleton, who also had previously been widowed. The couple enjoyed eleven years together, and traveled through much of North America, as well as Cancun and Hawaii. For many years, Iris worked as a bookkeeper, with her longest employment being office manager at Hartley Controls. Sewing and shopping were favorite hobbies.
Iris is survived by her husband: Gene Bockin of Appleton; two daughters: Julie (Kerry) Hull of Edgerton and their sons: Korey and Kristan, and Karen (Steve) Wedl of Neenah and their children: Missy, Jason, and Brian; a sister: Carol Cyr of Sheboygan; Gene's children: Diane Bockin of Leitchfield, Kentucky and her four children and Dr. Donald (Miriam) Bockin of Salado, Texas and their two children; and Gene's sister, Murial (Bob) Radtke. There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Gordon Forseth, a brother, Eddie Landwehr, a brother-in-law, Bernie Cyr, and a sister-in-law, Vivian (Henry) Marohn.
The funeral service for Iris will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 S. Allen Street in Appleton with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the church on Tuesday morning after 10:00 AM.
