Ione Marie Hanson

Ione M. Hanson, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born on April 6, 1926, in Appleton, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Schultz) Brandt. Ione attended St. Paul School in Appleton. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Hanson on October 19, 1946.

Ione loved her family and will be remembered most for the time spent with them, especially attending their events. She cooked everything from scratch, and baked every Saturday morning. Ione enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and cheering on the Packers and Brewers. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton.

Ione is survived by her children: Gerri Janusheske, Clyde (Cyndy) Hanson, Jacklynn (Douglas) Kortbein, Dorla (Gregg) Johnson, Paula (John) Kies, Sharon (Ron Saari) Hanson; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son: Wayne Hanson; sons-in-law: John Fiane and Tom Janusheske; and 3 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
