Herminia Ramirez, age 58, passed away on Sunday January 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family and their loved ones. She was born on June 21, 1967, in La Cañada Guanajuato, Mexico, to Salvador and Maria (Arroyo Mendoza) Frias Bustamante. She grew up in Mexico with 6 siblings. When attending a wedding in her hometown she met Rogelio Ramirez. He was the man who would become the love of her life. They danced the “last dance” at that wedding and the rest is history. Rogelio truly walked the walk with her and they danced their last dance together.
The family made the move to Wisconsin in 1997. Minia and Rogelio settled in Appleton and they raised their family. As their family grew, they incorporated daughters-in-law who truly became the daughters that Minia didn’t have. Soon 6 grandchildren arrived and her life was filled with more love than she could imagine.
Minia always focused on her family. She was known for making sure everyone got a meal, and making sure everyone was cared for. It’s a “bone of contention” that her younger sons were evicted when grandchildren arrived as she made more space in her heart for them! She loved all the people in her life. And no language barrier could get in the way of her friendly spirit, smile and presence.
Minia is survived by her husband Rogelio, Sr., her sons Jorge (Desiri), Joel (Lenay), Juni (Dana), Javi; grandchildren: Bryson, Maddox, Jayden, Melvin, Xochitl, Ithan and her father Salvador. She is further survived by her siblings: Hilda, Armando (Rosa), Damian (Gloria), Rosa (Ignacio), Julian; her mother-in-law Natalia, as well as by other relatives, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ma Refugio, her brother Antonio, and her father-in-law Jesus.
Minia’s family will greet friends and family at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St, Menasha on Wednesday January 28, 2026, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, with a prayer service taking place at 9:00pm.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday January 29, 2026, at 11:00am at St Therese Catholic Church 213 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until mass begins. She will be laid to rest at St Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
